We require a grounds person to work full time for a local school in the Worcester area.


Duties to include:

  • Under the direction of the head groundsman, preparing and maintaining the sports facilities, including all-weather surfaces, to a high standard.
  • Preparation and maintenance of cricket pitches, rugby pitches, football pitches and the all-weather pitches.
  • Regular mowing of the sports fields, marking out, spring and autumn renovation and erecting posts, nets, cricket frames, and tennis posts.
  • Working with various different types of machinery and equipment to prepare and maintain football, rugby, cricket, and artificial surfaces.
  • Undertaking general maintenance of equipment and keep clean and tidy and good working order.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of trees, hedges and paths, including leaf collection.
  • Maintaining grounds and sports related buildings, facilities and equipment.
  • Providing ground staff support to matches when required.
  • Collect litter and animal wastes etc.
  • Salting gritting and snow clearing of paths and parking areas. {Early starts required}
  • Maintenance to estates trees and hedges.
  • Line marking and initial setting out.
  • Fertilizing of turf areas.
  • Spraying of chemicals as and when required.
  • To work in a safe manor for ones self and others in accordance with health and safety at work and WRGS risk assessments.
  • Under take training as required.
  • Report any security issues with in the school grounds.
  • Ability to work unsupervised with in the school grounds.
  • Driving of various vehicles/tractors and trailers.
